Beginning Drop Spindle Class with Renee Love - All Fiber Arts Retreat 2023

Abstract

Have you tried Drop spindle? Need help or just want to give it a try? I am confident we can get you spinning! Whether you have never picked up a spindle before or are currently able to lap spinor park and draft. I bet we can get you more comfortable and confident in your future spinning adventures.

Materials

The following materials for the class are curated to facilitate your learning experience. Some of these supplies are included and some must be purchased separately. The fee for this class is only for the instruction and supplies provided by the instructor.

Supplies provided by the Instructor:

• Approximately 2oz of fiber
  

Supplies you are required to bring:  

• Hand spindle
  
• If you do not have your own, you may borrow one from the Instructor. Hand spindles will also be available for purchase from Renee.
• Scissors
• Paper and pencil/pen for note taking
• Project bag and/or cases to organize your materials

This class meets for up to 2 hours on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 9:00-11:00am CST. Please contact us with any questions about registration. 

Where

Classroom 1. This class is held during the All Fiber Arts Retreat 2023 at the Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay, WI. A conference room is reserved for our use at the back of the main festival space. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to get situated. Class will begin and end promptly within the agreed upon times with the instructor as scheduled. Please notify us prior to the class if you need any accommodations. 

About the Instructor 

Renee Love, Wavellite Creative

Renee Love has taught spinning both on wheels and drop spindles for years. She has helped teach new spinners while selling wheels and spindles for other vendors and fiber arts related stores for years. Six years ago, Renee started designing and making some unique drop spindles, now she sells both in person and on her website. In 2021 Renee founded her own business, Wavellite Creative LLC. Renee can have a non-spinner walk up to her and within about 30 minutes have a new spinner excited to get going on this great new fiber arts adventure.

Attendance & Cancellations

This class is a group style seminar with a minimum of 2 students to go forward and a maximum of 8 students. If the class minimum is not met, a full refund will be provided. A refund will be provided to attendees if notice is sent 3 business days in advance of the scheduled class. There is no refund or partial refund for the class for missing the session. You may transfer your reservation to another person if your cancellation is within the 3 business days before the start of class. In the unlikely event of inclement weather that would prevent the class from meeting, the class will be extended and rescheduled as determined by the Instructor. Please contact us promptly for any changes required in a reservation.
