Flat Braided Spiral Rug - All Fiber Arts Retreat 2024

Abstract

Make a family heirloom without a lot of equipment. Learn to braid as you go a beautiful rug using 4-8 strands with no sewing!  We will be using recycled materials.  You can start by making a chair pad and work up to a rug. The only tool you need to bring is a pair of scissors.

Materials

The following materials for the class are curated to facilitate your learning experience. These supplies are not included and must be purchased separately. The fee for this class is only for the instruction and the materials provided by the instructor.

Supplies provided by the Instructor:

• Up-cycled fabrics for stripping down to make the rug

Supplies you are required to bring:

• Scissors
  
• Paper & Pen/Pencil for note taking

This class meets for up to 4 hours on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9:00am-1:30pm CST. Please contact us with any questions about registration.

Where

This class is held during the All Fiber Arts Retreat 2024 at the Comfort Suites Rock Garden Green Bay, WI. A conference room is reserved for our use. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in at the reception table and allow yourself time to get situated. Class will begin and end promptly within the agreed upon times with the instructor as scheduled. Please notify us prior to the class if you need any accommodations.

About the Instructor

Cher is from Coleman Wisconsin and has been working with fibers for at least 30 year.  She is a spinner, sock knitter, quilter and rug braider and weaver. Passing on traditional fiber techniques is important to her.  She especially likes to teach children, they are the future artists. 

Attendance & Cancellations

This class is a group style seminar with a minimum of 2 students to go forward and a maximum of 10 students. A refund will be provided to attendees if notice is sent 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled class. There is no refund or partial refund for the class for missing the session. You may transfer your reservation to another person if your cancellation is within 2 weeks before the start of class. In the unlikely event of inclement weather that would prevent the class from meeting, the class will be extended and rescheduled as determined by the Instructor. Please contact us promptly for any changes required in a reservation.
