Magic Loop Ice Cream Cozy: Knit in the round using the Magic Loop Method is a single session course. Participants will be able to demonstrate the technique of knitting in the round upon successful completion of the class. The ice cream pint cozy project is the perfect sample project to learn Magic Loop in an afternoon. Magic Loop is an alternate method to double pointed neeedles for knitting small circumference projects using a fixed circular needle of 32” or more. Applications for the method are numerous including socks, mittens, crowns of hats, baby items, can cozies, etc.
Basic experience with knitting is a necessary prerequisite for this course. Participants must be able to demonstrate the following techniques: knit, purl, long tail cast-on, and bind off. Class size is limited to 8-10 participants in order to provide quality individual instruction.
Standardized materials for the course are included in the price to faciltate your learning experience.
Supply kits are made ready for you to pick up prior to the class. Simply pick up your kit from our valet table and claim a spot.
This course meets for a single session from 1:00pm-3:00pm on the following Sunday afternoon: March 11, 2018
Classes are held at our studio, Icon Fiber Arts, located at 1876 Dickinson Rd, De Pere, WI 54115. We ask that participants park in the back of the building and use the rear entrance. Our learning area is located immediately inside the back door. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to get situated. Class starts promptly at 1:00. Please notify us prior to the class if you need any accommodations.
About the Instructor
Terri Sipes, owner of Yarn Travels LLC, has been knitting, crocheting and embroidering since she was 12 years old. She has been teaching needle crafts locally for 20+ years at the Stitching Bee, Monterey Yarn, Spin of Door County and in her own studio Yarn Travels. Terri's passion for knitting is evident when she shares that knowledge with others, using several methods to accommodate different learning styles, with a sense of humor in a positive, encouraging and supportive manner. Terri was the founding President of the Bay Lakes Knitting Guild whose mission is to enrich the knitting community with fellowship and education and to be of service to northeast Wisconsin.
Cancellation & Attendance
A refund will be provided to attendees who cancel 24 hours in advance of the first session on March 11, 2018. There is no refund or partial refund for the class for any missed sessions. In the unlikely event of inclement weather that would prevent the class from meeting, the class will be extended and rescheduled as determined by the Instructor.
