Entrelac scarves are a wonderful knitting project that show off the beautiful colors of a gradient yarn. This is an advanced beginner class creating a beautiful multi-colored scarf in the entrelac style, a type of modular knitting. This class focuses on applying the fundamentals of cable cast on, picking up stitches from left to right, knitting backwards, SSK, and knit 2 together. This class is appropriate for anyone who has experience with the basics of knitting and loves learning new techniques.
Basic experience with knitting is a necessary prerequisite for this course. Participants must be able to demonstrate the following techniques: knit, purl, cast-on, and bind off. Class size is limited to 8-10 participants in order to provide quality individual instruction.
Participants are required to complete the Pre-Work for the class described below, prior to the start of class.
You are required to bring or purchase the following supplies needed:
*The needle for the class may be either a pair of single pointed needles or a fixed circular with an appropriate cable length for knitting an 8-10" flat panel.

A free gauge swatch pattern is available upon registration. Participants should have their swatch completed prior to class. Please purchase your yarn needed for the class with enough time in order to complete the pre-work.
This course meets for 1 session from 1:00pm-4:30pm on Sunday, April 28, 2019. One 15 minute break is scheduled during the session. Feel free to bring your own beverage and/or snack.
Classes are held at our studio, Icon Fiber Arts, located in buds 'n bloom at 1876 Dickinson Rd, De Pere, WI 54115. We ask that participants park in the back of the building and use the rear entrance. Our learning area is located immediately inside the back door. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to get situated. Class starts promptly at 1:00. Please notify us prior to the class if you need any accommodations.
About the Instructor
Terri Sipes, owner of Yarn Travels LLC, has been knitting, crocheting and embroidering since she was 12 years old. She has been teaching needle crafts locally for 20+ years at the Stitching Bee, Monterey Yarn, Spin of Door County and in her own studio Yarn Travels. Terri's passion for knitting is evident when she shares that knowledge with others, using several methods to accommodate different learning styles, with a sense of humor in a positive, encouraging and supportive manner. Terri was the founding President of the Bay Lakes Knitting Guild whose mission is to enrich the knitting community with fellowship and education and to be of service to northeast Wisconsin.
Cancellation & Attendance
A refund will be provided to attendees who cancel 72 hours in advance of the first session on April 28, 2019. There is no refund or partial refund for the class for any missed sessions. In the unlikely event of inclement weather that would prevent the class from meeting, the class will be extended and rescheduled as determined by the Instructor.
This class must meet a minimum enrollment of 6 attendees to go forward. In the event that a class cannot meet minimum enrollment, it will be cancelled 24 hours in advance. Full refunds will be provided for attendees for classes that don't meet minimum enrollment.
