The project is knit in the round and seamed across each end for a clean tailored look.

Born on a cold January day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, The Laura Hat is the perfect combination of warmth, softness, and classic style. The Merino yarn is exceptionally soft and wears easily next to the skin. The 2x2 ribbed pattern is simple to knit making this a perfect project for beginners. Experienced knitters will appreciate how quickly the pattern knits up. The ribbing on the brim is matched to the crown of the hat when the brim is folded up. The tip of the crown is shaped with standard decreases. This pattern is an ideal project for a new knitter. Select your favorite colorway to create an instant burst of color. 

Finished Size

Adult One Size. Comfortably fits a 20” to 24” adult head circumference.  Approximate finished dimensions (un-stretched): 19” inner circumference and 11” tall.

Our local Wisconsin winter days can be cold, frozen, wet, snowy, windy, and more! This versatile, beginner friendly, and quick to make chunky crochet hat is the perfect choice for any blustery day. The hat works up quickly with a simple ribbing stitch. When the brim is folded up it has a slight slouch and turns into a full size slouch hat with the brim folded down.

The sample shown in this pattern is made with Andeamo super bulky peruvian wool & alpaca yarn blend by Jody Long in color 21, Forest. Andeamo comes in 175yd/200g hanks. The sample shown is a one-skein project with about 20g of surplus. Other wool super bulky yarns that are approximately 70-90 yards per 100g are easily substituted within the suggested gauge.

Like a flowering vine growing on my garden trellis, this design developed over a period of growth with many twists and turns before it came into bloom. This cowl is sized as an oversize accessory that is the marriage between neck warmer and infinity scarf. The design is based on a trellis knit pattern that did not intuitively repeat end to end in the round.

Finished Size: Adult One Size. Approximate finished dimensions (unstretched): 36” wide circumference x 10” high.
