The Ladybug Spinning Wheel is friendly to entry-level spinners, easy to treadle, easy to take with you, and…as cute as a bug! The Ladybug has the characteristic solid Schacht construction and its unique design is both functional and charming. Designed-in carrying handles in the legs and light weight make the Ladybug easy to pick up and transport. An optional attached tensioned Lazy Kate integrates into the front leg and makes it easy to take along, too!

The Ladybug Spinning Wheel uses Scotch tension, and can also be used in double drive mode. The Ladybug comes with medium and fast flyer whorls; the extra slow, slow, high, and super high speed whorls can also be used for a wide range of ratios.

Included with each Schacht Ladybug Spinning Wheel are a poly drive band, threading hook, three bobbins, medium and fast whorls, and double drive band. Each Ladybug Spinning Wheel is unique – somewhere on your wheel is your very own Ladybug pal.

The long needle point of our oil bottle is ideal for getting to all those hard-to-reach places on spinning wheels and other small machines. Filled with 1/2 oz. of motor oil.

Schacht took physics to heart when they designed this Lazy Kate. It’s built low to the ground (no tipping over during plying), has a unique tensioning feature (no more bobbin back-spinning during plying), and accommodates up to three bobbins. It can be easily disassembled, making it easy to transport or pack — no tools required! Our Kate can be used with other spinning wheel bobbins up to 7″ in length. A Collapsible Lazy Kate comes with Schacht's Matchless wheels, it must be purchased separately with any other Schacht spinning wheel.

The Flatiron Spinning Wheel rises from a flat-packed box much like Boulder’s iconic Flatirons tilted up from a once-horizontal position. The elegant design of the formed maple ply body calls upon the same drama that makes the Flatirons so striking. This unique Saxony style wheel is anything but traditional, much like the company’s hometown of Boulder, Colorado.

The superb Flatiron Spinning Wheel is customizable; you can build it with either the flyer on the left or the right. With self-aligning bearings in the maidens, and a fully adjustable drive wheel, the whole system is sure to spin true. The clever quick-release lever makes changing out bobbins trouble-free.

The Travel Bobbin was designed with molded plastic flanges. The Travel Bobbin is lightweight, durable, and affordable. It has a four-ounce capacity.

Compatible with Matchless, Ladybug, Flatiron, and Sidekick spinning wheels.

The Matchless Spinning Wheel is the most responsive spinning wheel available today. You’ll appreciate our wheel’s matchless capabilities.

The Schacht Matchless Spinning Wheel offers double drive, Scotch tension, and bobbin lead modes of operation. Its 19.5″ drive wheel and flyer shaft are supported by self-aligning bronze bearings for precise action. Each flyer is individually balanced and the bobbins and flyer whorls are trued on center for long and superior service.

Schacht has built a lifetime of service into their hand carders. They have a small lip milled into the rear edge of the paddle to protect the card clothing from becoming worn and the handles have been precisely tenoned into the paddles for superior strength.

This is a very old breed, originating in the village of Rambouillet, France in 1786. It is also know as French Merino. The wool averages 20-23 Microns, with a good crimp. It also has a good length around 100mm. This wool is brilliant for felting and spinning.
