What is Corozo?
Our Corozo buttons are made in Panama from the seeds of a tropical palm tree called the Corozo Palm or Tagua Palm (pronounced Ta-qwa or Tah-gwa). This material is also commonly referred to as Vegetable Ivory because of its similarity in appearance to the ivory of elephant tusks.

The Corozo Palm's seed pod (fruit) is large, reaching about a full foot in diameter. It is mid to dark brown in color and completely covered with hard spikes. Each pod is composed of many clusters, with each cluster containing about 4 to 6 cavities. While growing and maturing, these cavities fill with fluid that eventually hardens into a solid white substance we call the Corozo nut or Tagua nut.

This nut is surprisingly versatile, and is an ideal nature-produced material for buttons because it can be easily pressed, cut, heated, lasered, bleached, dyed, and polished. If you look closely at many of our Corozo buttons, you can often see the natural grain of the Tagua nut.

Dusky Brown! Our Shetland top is light, soft and has a gentle sheen. Shetland wool is in demand for handmade textiles because of its variety of colours and adaptable quality. The wool is fine, soft and silky to the touch with a good, bulky down characteristic. 29-31mic average length of 90mm. Perfect for hand spinning, hand felting and many other craft uses.

The wire is usually fed through the outermost stitches, the ends overlapped and secured. This is a preferred way to display doilies without starching as well as a way to avoid or at least minimize pinning. Contains one 25 foot by 0.024 inch wide Lacis blocking wire. Made in USA.

1. Replace any regular stitch marker with your row counter and knit
2. When you come back to the row counter move it to the next number in the chain as you pass it from needle to needle
3. Once you have completed the chain (or completed a pattern repeat), move the melody clip to the next number to mark 10 rows completed (or 1 pattern repeat completed)
4. Keep On Knitting!
