Stitch Sampler Crochet Poncho Workshop with Shannon Dunbabin of Cascade Yarns - Saturday, October 3rd!

Abstract

Build your crochet stitch vocabulary while you make something you'll actually wear! The Stitch Sampler Crochet Poncho moves through a variety of crochet stitches, so every section teaches you something new. Join Shannon Dunbabin, co-owner and Creative Director of Cascade Yarns, for this afternoon crochet workshop as part of Cascade Day at Icon Fiber Arts.

This workshop is appropriate for crocheters who are comfortable with a foundation chain and single and double crochet.

A Celebration of Cascade Yarns

Because Shannon is joining us from Cascade Yarns, this workshop is a celebration of Cascade from start to finish. We ask that all workshop yarn be Cascade yarn, and we would love to help you find the perfect one.

For the workshop itself, one skein of Cascade yarn in a color you love works just fine for practicing. If you'd like, an additional 1 to 2 colors can be helpful for trying color changes and seeing each stitch section stand out. Once you've learned the stitches, our team will help you pick out your colors and the right amount of yarn for your size, either that day or on a later visit. Your practice yarn is available for purchase at Icon Fiber Arts before the event or on the day of the workshop.

Materials

Supplies you are required to bring:

• 1 skein of Cascade yarn in your choice of color for practice, plus 1 to 2 additional colors if you'd like. We recommend Cascade 128 Superwash or Cascade 220 Grande.
• Size L-11 (8.0 mm) crochet hook
• Paper and pen or pencil for note taking

When

This workshop meets for 2.5 hours on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:30pm CST.

Where

This workshop is held in our studio at Icon Fiber Arts, 590 Redbird Circle, De Pere, WI 54115. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to get situated. Class starts promptly at 2:00pm. Please notify us prior to the workshop if you need any accommodations in our learning area.

About the Instructor

Shannon Dunbabin joined Cascade Yarns in 2003 and today serves as the company's co-owner and Creative Director. In her own words, she is the "head yarn wrangler and chaos creator." Shannon is a self-taught knitter and crocheter who loves all things yarn, and we are honored to welcome her to De Pere for Cascade Day.

Attendance & Cancellations

This workshop is a group style class with a minimum of 2 students to go forward and a maximum of 12 students. In the event that the workshop cannot meet minimum enrollment, it will be cancelled 24 hours in advance and a full refund will be provided.

Cancellations: A refund will be provided to attendees if notice is sent 72 hours in advance of the scheduled workshop. There is no refund or partial refund for missing the session. You may transfer your reservation to another person if your cancellation is within 72 hours before the start of class. Please contact us promptly for any changes required in a reservation.
